Belmont Fire: Suspicious fire tears through vape shop along Belvidere Street

Police suspect a fire that engulfed a vape shop in Perth’s eastern suburbs early Monday morning may have been deliberately started.

A member of the public called police around 3.30am after seeing damage to the front of the store along Belvidere Street in Belmont and a possible fire inside.

Firefighters were called to the blaze where they put out a “small fire” inside the store, police said.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended the scene and conducted an initial assessment.

Early stages of the investigation suggest the fire is suspicious, with Cannington detectives investigating the cause.
