A new Topeka store sells everything except the kitchen sink

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Personalized clothing, candles and gifts, Hunter and Laine Boutique has something for everyone.

“We have barbecue sauce, we have drink mixes, we have jewelry, we have a company in Manhattan that gave us exclusive products like baths and lotions,” owner Sarah Caleb said.

The inspiration for the shop was born from a dream and led to something bigger.

“It was supposed to be a hair salon but I had to retire so it was going to be half a boutique and when I found out I had to retire we decided to go from there. before with the shop and it turned into this and seven months later here we are.

Caleb says part of the reason they opened the shop was to give back to the community and in particular to a local organization.

Along the wall of the store you will find a section dedicated to the Capper Foundation which has been 100% donated.

“100% goes back to the Cappers Foundation, all the products were made by their patrons, it gives them the opportunity to have a job and we believe in that, that’s part of the reason we opened the shop first, was for the community.

Hunter and Laine was only open for an entire day, and some of the top sellers include barbecue sauce and clothing. But, Caleb says she was overwhelmed by the amount of support Topeka showed.

“I was blown away by the number of people who came out to support us. We had people waiting at the gates at 8:15 a.m. and we closed the door at 7:30 p.m. and our hours were supposed to be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.,” he said. she declared. .

The store is located at 826 South Kansas Ave. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, but open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.
